Makiri, fisherman's knife - carbon steel, kurouchi finish

Small to carry but insanely useful, it is traditionally found in the hands of fishermen in the north of Japan. The single bevel is perfect for accurate filleting.

SHAPE: Makiri or fisherman's knife. Single bevel, for use in the right hand.

STEEL: Carbon steel

FINISH: Kurouchi. This is a traditional, rustic finish achieved by leaving the furnace scale from the forging process on the blade rather than polishing it off. It has the advantage of reducing the reactivity of the surface of the knife and gives the blade a stylish, matt black finish.

LENGTH: 150mm in length.

Comes with leather sheath.
