Alongside the in-store services, we can also sharpen you knives via post. There are three options for the service:
3 KNIVES STANDARD: pay for sharpening and return by post of three knives
3 KNIVES EXPRESS: a quicker service with next day postal and sharpening on day of receipt. Exact turnaround times are reliant on postal services.
REPAIR SERVICE: This covers the outward and return postage. An exact quotation for the repair work will be emailed once the knife is received. As a rough guide, please allow £20 upwards for chipped tips and chips to the blade, and £35 upward for thinning.
Place your order and we will post out to you a pre-paid tube and wrapper to allow you to send your knives safely to us. We will sharpen them and then post them back. Take a look at the instructions on how to post your knives here.
THE SMALL PRINT: For the standard service, we only accept knives that are in a readily sharpenable condition. This means that we cannot sharpen knives that have been “steeled”, need thinning, or are damaged.
We do not accept serrated knives nor single bevel knives.
For any chips, chipped tips, thinning or other repair work, please select the repair service. If your knife is not readily sharpenable, we will be in touch via email. Please note that if you choose not to have your knife repaired, the fee for postage is non-refundable.
We will send you dispatch information when your knives have been posted to you. Turnaround is usually four working days but please allow for postal times and bear in mind that the workshop doesn't work weekends. If you require a next day service, please select this option. All postage is a fully tracked service.
Postage and packing materials are all fully recyclable.
We dispatch orders Monday - Friday with our post collection time at midday. Next day delivery orders need to be placed before 9am to guarantee dispatch. We are able to provide tracking information for orders which will be provided once your order has been dispatched. No problem at all. Everything is beautifully packaged so it will look all present-y and special, and you can also add gift wrapping to your order. Put any gift message in the notes section. We will leave out the shipping note to protect the gift-giver's modesty. Job done. Sit back and wait for the rounds of effusive thanks!
Orders purchased through the website can be collected from either shop. Please select which store you would like to collect from and wait for email confirmation that your order is ready before coming to collect.
