• How we are sipping our gin in August

    It might be summer but here at Kitchen Provisions we have been like squirrels prepping for when the big frost comes. Rather than tucking nuts into our dray, we have been laying down a couple of bottles of sloe gin using the new sloe gin kit. So far, we have gone for a classic straight sloe blend and there is a bit of a stand off between Saunders, who likes it sweeter, and Symonds, who is sweet enough already and likes more of an alcoholic flavour (ain't that true!). 

    We have also been experimenting with a spicy version, a little less straight forward as the botanicals should only be steeped for a limited amount of time to complement and not over power the plummy sloe flavour. This one will definitely be a winner for cocktails.
