This product is currently sold out.
This range of knives offers excellent value for money and is a great choice for those wanting to learn to sharpen.
SHAPE: Bunka. It's like a santoku but with a flatter profile and a pointed tip also known as a k-tip. While slightly delicate this fine tip can be used for very intricate jobs.
STEEL: Aogami (blue paper) 2 steel. This is very similar to white paper steel but with tungsten and chromium added to it which helps with edge retention and slows down rusting. This core steel has then been clad in reactive iron so care has to be taken to dry the knife properly to inhibit rust.
FINISH: Nashiji or pear skin finish
HANDLE: Octagonal Walnut Handle with Pakkawood ferrule.
LENGTH: 165mm in length.
MAKER: Okeya - Miki city, Japan
BEST FOR: Butchery on a budget.
SAUNDERS SAYS: "£125 for a lump of Aogami, where do I sign up?"
These knives are hand-forged so there may be slight variations in measurements and finishes.
