Bester is a perfect range for general use, with a strong bond of components you're able to get good results, quickly and without wearing away the stone.
1000 grit would be great for general use and can give quick results and at a high quality. Although the 500 grit will rip through material well, it may not be course enough for repair but really good for thinning and putting a fresh edge at the start of your sharpening session.
Most importantly the strong bond allows for a faster cutting rate and the feedback tells you how quickly it's cutting material. They have to be soaked for about 15 minutes before being used.
